BARLEY

It is an important grain plant from the poaceae family whose grains are used as malt and feed. While barley can be given to all animals it is more suitable for especially ruminants. Barley is one of the most appropriate dense feeds. Due to its high cellulose content, thus preventing lumping in the rumen, it eases digestion. In addition, barley is added to the egg pullet and chicken rations whose energy requirements are lower. However, it can also be used to a certain extent in broiler rations together with enzyme fortification.
